Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson
5.0
This book is dense and it took me time to process. And it taught me so much. This is history and anti-racism that I’ve read in similar books, but through the lens of the Caste system, it all clicks in an entirely different way.
You’ll view how we in the US function, the myths we tell ourselves.
I think this may be the best explanation of intersectionality, and I can’t even remember if the author even uses the word intersectionality.
But by utilizing caste terminology, I can totally see the layers of who ranks above, who and who doesn’t.
A book I’ll recommend often.
