I really like this one! I think the starfleet guild is interesting, although throughout I was more annoyed with them than anything, their obsession with the prime directive was weird to me because it’s not like the characters in Star Trek ever actually care about the prime directive to this degree. It became more clear at the end with the postulation that the skippies were the ones who pushed starfleet, having plans of their own.
There are so many stories that Taylor could tell in this world, I wouldn’t mind a skipper or even starfleet focused book, I think that the proper thing to do is not write those stories and just let things be more mysterious than I’d like.
