Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret by Judy Blume
5.0
I read this once in 5th grade, and although I didn't understand at all what all those sanitary belt contraptions were (and still don't really get it), I was fascinated by this book. It captured my feelings about liking boys and wanting my first period so desperately that I couldn't put it down.
I decided to read it again since I couldn't really remember much about it, and I enjoyed it even more since I've gotten past the awkwardness of puberty! ;) My only gripe would be the changes that came with the updated version. Even though the original is "outdated", I feel like it just adds to the charm and awkwardness of this book! Without it, I couldn't help but feel a little bit disappointed, but that just might be nostalgia talking. Either way, though, Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret is a great book and I really do believe that all pre-teen girls should read this book! (Even if you're not allowed to ;) )
