Deeply disturbing and also brilliant. Graphic (not my cup of tea at all) but in a way that illustrated how fucked up the story's world is. It made me feel something (disgust, concern, sympathy, hatred that people do this to animals irl) and that's great. I love a book where I have to sit and reflect after I finish.
