I quite liked some of the characters of the book, not the protagonist though. My biggest complaint is that this felt like 'I'm writing the first book of a series so I'd better plant as many plot hooks as possible for future books' rather than a full rounded book. And rather than intigue me to find out where these hooks lead to, it has actually managed to spite me off so I don't think I'll go on with the series
