Are U 4 Real? by Sara Kadefors

3.0

I was drawn to this book because of the online romance plotline ... but this book didn't really meet my expectations. For one thing, this novel is written in present tense, which made it a bit unusual, and something I had to get used to. But I liked the attraction between Alex and Kyla - "good boy" meets "bad girl." I could identify with the absence of a father in Kyla's life- she ended up working hard and protecting her mother after realizing she was making some totally self centered choices. The ending between her and Alex is beautiful in it's simplicity and is just perfect. However, I thought that this book was mostly only "okay" and it's not something I'm going to revisit again.
