The Peacock Emporium
by Jojo Moyes
I picked up this book at the library, because I really liked The Giver of Stars, but I was so glad to be finished with it. I don’t remember the last time I disliked a main character as much as I disliked Suzanna Peacock. She came across as childish and spoiled, and it was difficult to sympathize with her, or really even care about her as a character. I almost quit a couple times, but kept reading, hoping the ending would redeem the whole thing, but it didn’t (for me).
The book also jumped around a lot, the timeline and characters, without a clear description of who you were reading about, or when. There were several times I had to read a few paragraphs before I had any idea who I was reading about. Overall, this book just didn’t do it for me.
