HOT STEW by FIONA MOZLEY

Thank you so much for sending me this book and for allowing me to be part of this readalong.

I have absolutely adored it! This book is a gem and this writer is outstanding.

The story was not what I was expecting - it follows the lives of various characters who live in Soho and are affected by various events that bring them together and take them apart.

The story begins zoomed in and then slowly zooms out a bit at a time until we have the full picture. I loved the way the events unfolded and the way the writer used small happenings and conversations to move the plot forward.

Don’t read this book for the plot or for the characters (although both are seamlessly portrayed) read this book for the storytelling, which is masterful.

It’s a broad novel that manages to feel incredibly personal.

Also, if you’ve been to Soho, then you’ll enjoy the references to place. I can’t remember ever having been, but the place came alive to me as was as much a character in the book as anyone else.

You know those writers who could describe a man crossing a street and make it entertaining? Yeah, this is that.
