Year of the Tiger by Jack Higgins

2.0

I have a rule. If I'm somewhere where there are books for sale at ridiculously low prices, I have to buy one. When I found myself at a tiny book market in downtown Athens while on holiday, and most of the books at only €1, I naturally didn't hesitate. This one was the only interesting one in a language I could understand, so I grabbed it even though the cover was missing (I am aware of the moral bankruptcy).
If nothing else, it was alright for passing the time sunbathing at the poolside, but a bland one. The end is frankly badly written with a twist that feels forced, and even though I wanted to I couldn't like (or even hate affectionately) the characters.
