Toxic Parents: Overcoming Their Hurtful Legacy and Reclaiming Your Life by Susan Forward

3.0

Hmm. This is very on-point in concept but mostly targeted to people unable or unwilling to accept that their parents are toxic and damaging--for people with obviously toxic and damaging families, it has less to offer. And of course, it's a self-help book, so it's workmanlike on the sentence level, talks down to the reader a bit psychologically, et cetera: still, I'm not discounting the value of the concepts to people who really need them, and to some extent it's validating just to have them reinforced, even in so obvious a fashion.
