The Shuddering by Ania Ahlborn

4.0

I freaking loved this! It has everything I am looking for in a book
-Scary Monsters
- Winter setting
- An amazing lodge surrounded by a snowy forest (I love a snowy forest)
-blizzard!

and also ....
Oona the husky,

She is an angel, her owner Ryan loves her and appreciates how smart she is, so legitimately almost all boxes are checked except there is literally not one POC in this book so she got docked a star. I will be reading more from Ania Ahlborn and hopefully there is more representation in those, because I did truly enjoy this.
So a group of five twenty somethings are at their family's lodge for a last blast weekend of snowboarding and fun before Ryan leaves the country on a business venture. Twins Ryan and Jane, Jane's best friend Lauren, Ryan's best friend and Jane's Ex Sawyer who also brings along his fiancée April, which is an unpopular decision, April doesn't snowboard, like the cold, or like any of these people.
The way April is written, no one is going to like her, everybody is going to hate you, she should go eat worms.
April is here to ruin everyone's fun laughs and good times, but due to the monsters lurking in the forest she is actually not the worst thing to happen to the weekend.

A blizzard descends on the cabin and with it brings hungry monsters that are vicious, terrifying things, they are tall and resemble an emaciated corpse, so many teeth that cluck when they move their jaws.
Phenomenal imagery with these monsters, I loved it!
