this audiobook was incredibly hard to sit through, as the narrators often relayed in painstaking detail all the ways in which being fat was their deepest fear. in many sections, if not in its entirety, this book reminded me that people, by & large, would rather be deemed psychotic & hospitalized than be seen as fat. carolyn, a psychiatrist herself, reiterates this when she is more so disgusted by her twin’s weight gain than she is proud pamela’s auditory hallucinations have subsided. i’m very disappointed in the avenues this book ventured down, although i empathize with the challenging lives both women endured. however, according to them, it seems my life as a fat person is probably harder
