The Ice Princess by Camilla Läckberg
4.0

Several colliding story themes ultimately resolve satisfactorily in this suspense-infused Swedish mystery. Erica Falck, an author, has returned to her small home town after the death of her parents and is using this time to write and sort through her parents' belongings when her evil brother-in-law insists that she sell the house. Then her childhood friend is murdered. An alcoholic in town is murdered. Romance simmers between Erica and the policeman who has been besotted with her for years.

This is about characters in their 30s. The romance is nice yet on the tame side. This includes issues of spouse abuse, child sexual abuse, marital infidelity, and children as murderers. Lots of characters and story threads. As Erica becomes reacquainted with her home town and its deeply buried secrets, suspense builds and evil is revealed.

Excellent escapist read.
