All By Myself, Alone by Mary Higgins Clark

3.0

After reading several chapters this book seems like a modern Murder on the Orient Express: Ocean Liner Edition....except the writing is subpar compared to Agatha Christie. There really was no real suspense moments in this book - okay there was two, maybe, three but you knew what’s coming, it’s so predictable. Now that I think about it, it’s all very predictable. Very Nancy Drew....heck even Carolyn Keene wrote better. I was super confused on how the title fit into the book. Come to find out on the last page and honestly they could have done better. Willy and Alvirah could have been better developed. And I was disappointed with Celia in the end. For how much MHC put into Yvonne I was disappointed how she didn’t wrap up what happened to her. Just briefly told us what happened. Either fully put something into her story or leave it out. It was a quick and easy read.

Despite it all I had a hard time putting it down and mildly enjoyed this book. If you’re looking for a quick and easy read that won’t make you think too much, then this is for you!

This is my “a Murder Mystery” for the book challenge I’m doing this year.
