ARC Review: Tender Heart by Alexandra Banks
⭐ 3.5/5

This was my first book by Alexandra Banks, and I’m grateful to the author and Greys Promotion for the ARC!

I really enjoyed the slow burn in this story. The connection between Cal and Eve felt natural and sweet, even with the grumpy/sunshine dynamic. The age gap was well portrayed, and the Gaelic phrases added such a nice, authentic touch.

What didn’t work for me as much: the repeated use of the pet name “baby girl”, it was just a lot. Also, the thriller aspect of the story (a stalker subplot) felt unnecessary. Honestly, the story had enough emotional depth and potential without it.

And that cliffhanger?! WHYYYY. It definitely has me curious and wanting to read Book Two already.

As for the spice… the scenes started out great, but eventually, it felt like too much, chapter after chapter of steam. I think it would’ve been more meaningful to see Cal and Eve bond in other ways, too, especially since they’re both dealing with loss. A little more emotional connection outside the bedroom would’ve made the story stronger for me.

Overall, a promising start to the series! I’ll be keeping an eye out for the next book.
