A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara

Did I read this because of my FOMO tendency? Yes. Did I read this to find out whether I'd fall under the category of people who love it or the category of people who hate it? Yes. Which one is it then? The latter. I honestly thought it would be the former. It started out so well. Thanks to the descriptive writing, I was able to feel connected with and even rooted for the characters, and despite being a plot reader, I'm surprisingly okay with the book being plotless. Also i didn't cry. Nope. Not a single tear was shed, despite how devastating I found each page to be. And as much as I keep asking myself WHY EXACTLY i didn't cry, i don't knowwwww??? I guess i can only second what other people say about this book: that it is a torture porn - very much UNNECESSARILY so. ARGH.
