This was marketed to me as a romance, and I wouldn’t qualify it as such—which I think has made it more difficult for me to review overall. I’d say this is a book about grief, and processing that grief. I was certainly invested in the characters and wanted the best for them, but I would not consider romance a priority in this book. Still, I think it was well written and I think the tone and pacing used when Eric is having conversations with people who aren’t there (Jasmine and Haru) VS with people who are (his parents,
Simon and Alex, even Christian) really made me think.

Minor: Alcohol
There are a few scenes which are not explicit or detailed, but do deal with dubious consent.
