This story is unlike any other work of fiction told in this time period before. Erdrich’s prose almost reads like poetry in this novel thanks to its creatively vivid and enchanting imagery. The plot follows a litany of different characters that would often make it hard to follow a story, but Erdrich beautifully and skillfully intertwines the stories of these characters as the reader are revealed smaller morsels of the greater story, crisis, and mystery that keeps them coming back for more. I could keep reading this book again and again.
