The Woman Who Killed the Fish
by Clarice Lispector
Extremely charming collection of children's stories by the legendary Lispector. Still very entertaining to me (grown up), then again I went in knowing that these are kids' stories and that I've enjoyed reading things like this as an adult before.
Touches on some great concepts/messages for children (wish I was taught some of these things when I was younger!). And a couple of emotional or funny moments, where Lispector's voice shines through more strongly. Loved the tone and the way that she encourages the reader/listener to engage with the story and introduces herself or places herself into the stories.
Some nice quotes, particularly liked the very meme-worthy "the men were manning, the women were womanning" etc. and the comparison of animals and people saying "People want to live too, but luckily they also want to use life to do something good"
