jamaretto 's review for:
The Plague Stones
by James Brogden
I feel like I could not have read this at a worse (or better) time in some ways: a lot of the parallels definitely hit close to the current coronavirus pandemic and it's scary to compare. Horrorwise I did like the grisliness added throughout the book and enjoyed the descriptions for the most part. For some reason I preferred the first half to the second half (although enjoyed elements from both) and found the narrative to waffle a bit. The characters were okay and the plot decent enough, not bad and definitely a very relevant read at current time!
