The Mystery of Mrs. Christie by Marie Benedict
4.0
... it occurred to me that we are all unreliable narrators of our own lives, crafting stories about ourselves that omit unsavory truths and highlight our invented identities.
This was an interesting and clean take on Christie's disappearance in 1926. Nicely written with a clear explanation on to why she "took off".
The story has 2 time-lines. One in the past from Agatha's perspective describing how she met Archie and how their relationship developed over the years. And another one set in 1926, from her husband's pov following her disappearance.
I like the tone of the story, the writing and the way the author imagined their interactions and relationship. But it did seem a bit flat.
If you're a Christie fan, it's a nice read but don't expect anything out of the ordinary or anything suspensful. It's one wife and husband's story, their ups and down. And a bit of mystery, of course.
