Things from the Flood by Simon Stålenhag

5.0

Please read this book, it takes an hour or less if you aren't stuck transfixed by the beautiful illustrations. The world of this book feels so familiar as a Scandinavian and it's a real treat to see a dystopia not in a major American city. To see places and things from my childhood corrupted beyond repair or recognition was breathtaking. I loved seeing what would be next, especially if it was gross and fleshy. While there is a "story", it feels more like a collection of memoirs that give the impression of a life lived in this world that is so similar and different all at once. A must read for any fan of sci-fi or horror.
