"You ready?" Julian asked
"No"
"Do it anyway"
This book had me in tears from page 1 right until the last moments.
Yadriel felt so real, along with his strong relationships which grew with each character. He was so passionate throughout the story and you could feel his love for his family even when not fully accepted.
Julian was a wonderful character, with bright personality and joyous humour.
Their relationship made my heart ache from page 1.
Maritzia was one of my favourite characters, and let's not forget about her best boys Donnotello and Michelangelo. She was constantly there for her friends, and was a beautiful full round character.
My final words are
If you want a book about LGBTQ+ issues and feeling good in your own skin. Read. This. Book.
Aiden Thomas has masterfully encaptured the trans experience within this book with small remarks and daily struggles that show inner conflict and how to accept yourself no matter what.
