Overall, this sequel to Shiver was pretty much the reverse of the first book. There is the introduction of Cole, who provides the fourth perspective along with the previously seen characters, Sam, Grace, and Isabel. Otherwise, we're looking at the same basic story, but reversed (specifics behind the spoiler).
SpoilerInstead of working on Sam going from wolf to human, we're seeing Grace go from human to wolf.
Arguably, this takes place to set up for the third book, but it's not evident in the second, and I'm not sure that it's completely necessary. It does give an excellent opportunity to have drawn-out lovey-dovey dramatics, so if you're into that type of romance, you may enjoy it.
