Stirring Spurs
by M.A. Wardell
This book was everything I needed! It was sweet, featured hot cowboys, cozy ranch setting, and low angst in the best way. It’s the feel good, queer cowboy romance of the summer, and I adored every minute of it.
Boone is absolute sunshine, the kind of soft hearted ranch cook who heals people with soup and smiles. Wylie is a broody cowboy with one foot out the door… until Boone and his famous buns (yes, those buns 😏) convince him to stay. Their slow friendship to lovers progression is so sweet, until things heat up. And oof, do they heat up. Pick up truck spice anyone? 🥵
There’s tons of caretaking, an adorable and slightly chaotic mini horse, stargazing, and all the found family feels. I especially loved the forced proximity, only one bed, and Boone being the kind of golden retriever gay who just wants everyone to be happy, while Wylie sulks his way into falling in love.
Yes, it leaned a bit insta love, which isn’t usually my thing, but it honestly worked here. It felt intentional, tender, and full of heart.
💖 What to expect:
Sunshine ranch cook x grumpy cowboy
Forced proximity & only one bed
Queer affirming, found family goodness
Mini horse mischief
Boone’s legendary buns (interpret that how you will)
Low stakes, high feels
Sweet heat + deep care
Whether you love cowboy romances or think they aren’t your thing, this book will charm you. M.A. Wardell just gets how to write characters with softness, chemistry, and so much heart.
Giddy up and grab this gem. You won’t regret it. 🐎🌈🥣
Thank you to M.A. Wardell and Grey's Promotions for the eARC of this book.
