I was sadly disappointed in this book. It sounds like something I would really enjoy, and Card is one of the most famous authors of all time. However, I was sadly underwhelmed with this book. I found the main character annoying, and his entire relationship with Eric seemed like a huge waste of time because it came to nothing. The dual storylines didn't come together in a satisfactory way to me, and I found the ending to be anticlimactic. I like the idea of the story, and the plot could have been great with some parts cut out and an ending that actually felt like an event.
