I enjoyed the ruse by which we could learn about what was going on with characters far distant from each other via a powder. Though I wasn't sure it was really logical at all, as a storytelling device it worked quite well. And like the first book, the pacing was spot on, and the story was interesting enough to make the book hard to put down.
