I enjoyed the characters but think this story would have worked just as well if April was aged up in the beginning and could have avoided an unnecessary minor/adult relationship. The author got a lot right about a traumatized young adult’s choices and how they might handle things but I just didn’t care for the way she romanticized some of those choices.
