It was well-written but it was not for me at all. There was something about the tone and morality of the book that really rubbed me the wrong way. I didn't like that the Thursday murder club was so disrespectful/manipulative to Donna and Chris, and the fact that the narrative didn't condemn them for that or hold them accountable really killed my investment in them. I got to the end of the book just feeling tired and totally uninvested.

The interview at the end of the audiobook helped me to understand where it went wrong, though. The author believes that people are inherently good and that our messed up society is often the cause of people being nasty or doing bad things, so at the end of the day we should look out for one another and be kind and stuff. While there are parts of that that I agree with, there are parts that I fundamentally disagree with enough that the conclusion and tone of the book fell really flat for me.

So I did not enjoy this book, but I'm sure there are loads of people who wouldn't be bothered by this and would really get a lot out of it!
