Alexi and Eli. This book was like if you ordered a MM hockey romance from Wish. It was cliché, misogynistic, and cringy af, with an unlikeable MMC. You had the big, tough, "straight" hockey player with daddy issues unexpectedly falling for the gay art student who likes to get man handled by this "savage" Titan.
Alexi was not very likable. He bullied Eli for no reason. The way he treated or talked about people made me dislike him with a passion. Maybe the one redeeming quality was he stuck up for his gay cousin. There was no rhyme or reason why he was like this, no redemption arc that made me forgive his behavior and like him as a person. Eli was ok but or the life of me I can't figure out what he saw in Alexi beyond them having some chemistry in the bedroom.
I was hoping there was going to be something impactful, unique or amazing to make up for the fact that this was such a short story and Alixi was unlikeable. The lack of character development, plot, underwheming spice, a lot of tell instead of show made the book feel hollow. I had no emotional investment in it what so ever. The only reason this is a 2 star instead of 1 was the duet narration was pretty good.
