I struggled with rating this novel, as it wasn't a pleasant read. Every dark and unsettling theme you can imagine was present here, but it somehow still pulled you in. Once I sat down to read it properly, I couldn't put it down.

But objectively, as a novel, the story itself was relatively slow and dull. The focus was on the protagonist, Camille, talking to people, and realistically, that doesn't evoke much intrigue considering this is a thriller. However, thematically, the unnerving nature of the story and the behaviours displayed by the characters were strangely riveting due to how disturbing it was.

I couldn't stop reading, while simultaneously, loathing what I was reading.
This was a weird one!
