Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson
1.0

Despite how much I really enjoyed Stevenson's Treasure Island, I found Kidnapped difficult to read and boring. I really did not enjoy David Balfour's point of view and found him to be whiny and very annoying. I enjoyed Alan Breck but he was the only break up of the monotony and even he was boring at times.

I also didn't expect so much politics in the book, which was off putting as I don't have much basis of knowledge for the conflict that the book dealt with and so I didn't really know what was going on a lot of the time. I much preferred the easy and straightforward pirate story from Treasure Island.

My brother really enjoyed this book and I read it because he liked it but in the end, not one I would really recommend to people or read again. I don't know if I will even read Catriona as I disliked Balfour so much in this book.
