I was looking forward to reading this book because I'm a huge fan of second chance romances but unfortunately, this was a disappointment. I found both Billie & Marcus to be selfish and immature.

She ran away from their wedding and hurt him. This could've been avoided if she just communicated her feelings to him rather than running away. The whole excuse about "my family needed me" was also bs. He wasn't that great either. He constantly belittled her and wasn't that much of a good son or brother. Marcus was just a plain a**hole and his arguments really got in my last nerves. And the entire part towards the end about him leaving everything behind to come back to the small town was rushed and unbelievable tbh.

The story really had potential and the blurb was eye catching but the execution and bad character sketch ruined it all. I even found all of the side characters annoying including Billie's siblings, ngl.
