The Great Beanie Baby Bubble: Mass Delusion and the Dark Side of Cute by Zac Bissonnette

funny informative medium-paced

4.0

This was such a fun palette cleanser read between some of the other titles sitting on my shelves, and I was shocked to learn all of the intricate details about the Beanie Baby Bubble. This nonfiction book reads much like a fiction novel at points with some of the humor and scenes the author describes, and I found it both informative and enjoyable. Ty Warner was a complex man, and a mystery to all who worked with him. It was fascinating to read about the history and rise of Beanie Babies to their sudden downfall in value, and brought back some great childhood memories of playing with our own family Beanie stash. A great and entertaining non-fiction read!
