Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life
by Francesc Miralles, Héctor García
fast-paced
Ikigai is not a successful exploration of the concept it Ikigai in my opinion. It spends barely any time discussing what it is, and instead filters it through many other tangentially related lenses.
With such a low number of pages it covers far too many topics, with means each is given little more than a brief summary, and feels extremely surface level.
I went in hoping to learn about another culture's philosophy on life, and to learn what Ikigai is all about. Instead, I was told what I already know...try to eat healthy, move around and keep stress to a minimum.
