Anxious People by Fredrik Backman

this book broke me, put me back together again, made me laugh a ton, then broke me again. this is not about a bank robbery or whatever everyone's been pitching it as/thinking it's about in TBRs. it's very much a character-driven novel about a diverse group of people and couples who are at various stages in their lives and happen to be at the same apartment viewing. there are so many different stories going on at once and a few different perspectives without a chapter title to indicate specifically whose it is, yet it was so easy to follow. mental health rep was there and it was beautiful. so many universal truths are scattered throughout, as well as so many relatable statements. backman's writing and storytelling abilities are so complex yet simply told at the same time somehow, and it makes for such a great experience.
