The Evening and the Morning by Ken Follett

4.0

This was comfortably close to five stars for me. It’s epic in scope, though it only covers 10 years; is full of relatable, believable characters; and has — I think — a better plot arc and storytelling than the book it precedes (The Pillars Of The Earth).

I found a couple of editing errors that pulled me out of the narrative, and some confusion about what color Ragna’s hair was, but these were very minor details. And, personally, despite the existence of my own first name (Wil), I had trouble keeping track of all the “Wi” characters — Wilburgh, Wynstan, Wilfurth, Wigbeth, and so on.

(I published a longer review on my website.)
