Kissed by Magic by Erica Ridley

I am not the intended audience for "Kissed by Magic," but I saw it on Freeby.com and liked the story's blurb.

"Kissed by Magic" was a fun little read, and I was surprised how little. After flipping through marketing links for other books, the story itself is a novella and is much shorter than the total pages. In fact, the last 25% of the e-book is a preview of another book by the author. But, like I mentioned, Kissed by Magic was offered for free, which includes advertising.

I enjoyed the two characters and the ending was clever, although it wrapped up quickly. I would have liked more detailed descriptions to better imagine the castle and Lance's alternate modern world. The reader is meant to focus on Lance and Marigold's assessments of each other in this little romance, rather than letting us wander the iced-covered world they are stuck in.

The author did not, however, skimp on describing how attracted the two are to each other, and the sex scenes go on in pretty good detail for several pages, which surprised me since I thought this was a YA novel.
