The Cookie Caper is a fun and educational read for middle school students. Not only were there plenty of humorous situations, but there was also a lot of attention to detail in the court proceedings. Some illustrations are located throughout the story to give breaks to younger minds and assist with picturing the story.
Very well written and easy for a young teenager to grasp and language they would understand.
It is fantastic that at the back of the book, Author Caron Pescatore included a glossary covering definitions of all law/court-used words and positions that may be unfamiliar to younger people.
The Cookie Caper was well thought out and planned. It engages readers and teaches them the proper outlines held in actual court cases but in a fun, friendly, and kid way.
Highly recommend this book to young children who love mysteries and whodunit.
