That ending was awful. I also felt like no one’s backstory was fully developed since there were quite a bit of characters. The shift from each pov was abrupt and I was often confused which perspective I was in. The audiobook is the way to go for this book though, put that baby on 1.75 speed and it’s fast paced and a little exciting. Overall though, it was giving hunger games & a hint of bird box but not as well done. I honestly would’ve liked more of a story about Mack’s childhood & what her dad did. That part was the only terrifying part of the book. The beast wasn’t scary at all.
