One of the Girls by Lucy Clarke
4.0
I enjoyed this one. While it was not my favorite psychological thriller it kept me entertained from start to finish.
Some things I did not like: I was not fond of the frequently used hen party description of the woman nor did I find the characters themselves to be all that likable but it definitely had its moments. The 6 friends were so different from each other it was hard to picture their friendship dynamic working. This book was rather predictable but I think with this genre it’s hard to always provide the mind blowing plot twist.
Some things I did like: This story being set in Greece made for nice mental imagery while reading. The chapters are short so it made it a comfortable fast paced story. The style in which the story was laid out was one of my favorites! The murder happens right away and then we jump to a week prior to then uncover how we got to the crime all the while unraveling the mysteries of each character. I The ending wrapped everything very nicely and I was left satisfied.
I would suggest this to anyone who is dipping their toes into this genre.
