A Murder of Mages (The Maradaine Constabulary #1) by Marshall Ryan Maresca is my first novel by this author, but now I know that I'll be back for more. I have a feeling the overarching series could grow to become a favorite. As much as I enjoyed the characters, I particularly liked getting to know more about Maradaine itself. I liked just how much the story is a mystery/ police procedural as much as it is a fantasy. I have a copy of The Holver Alley Crew (The Streets of Maradaine #1) on my shelf, and I'm looking forward to giving it a try and hopefully soon.
