The Cape Ann by Faith Sullivan
3.0

This depression-era story is told by a 6 year old little girl. In much the same way as "To Kill a Mockingbird", little Lark Erhardt comes of age by observing the world around her. She doesn't always completely understand, or agree with the events, but she is so determined to fit them into her little frame knowledge that she quickly endears the reader. Surrounded by characters like her domineering, gambling father, her independent mother and the strong beliefs of the nuns at that teach her chatecisim classes, Lark learns to be a thinker and never give up on anyone or her situation.
