I am so happy I borrowed this book from the library. I have seen a lot of people give this book a 3 star rating however I LOVED this book. First off it has a horse on the cover so I’m in automatically. (yes I’m a sucker for a book with a horse on the cover.. or a dog for that matter) Second it’s about the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse!! What a great idea!!

This first book follows Gideon aka WAR, he wakes up after an accident at Army Ranger training to find a weird cuff on his wrist. After he wakes up he finds out he was actually dead for a couple of minutes. Weird things start happening around Gideon and he doesn’t understand why people keep getting super angry with him. He goes to a party in his sister’s apartment building when he runs into Daryn. While he is at this party the demons show up to get the “key” . Then the real adventure starts he learns that he is WAR and he must travel with Daryn who can tell where all the horsemen are to secure Conquest, Famine, and Death.

I loved War’s POV in this book and how he connects with some of the horseman but not all of them. He is attracted to Daryn I’m just going to put that out there. However there is barely any romance in this book or love at first sight. It’s basically find all the horseman and fight! It’s pretty cool how Veronica Rossi has Gideon captured and he is telling the story of how everything happened. Towards the end there are quite a few plot twists. I totally did not see the “key” coming and how it works!! I loved, loved, loved the scenes were Gideon finally gets over his fear of Riot his horse. The ending was brutal I honestly don’t know if I can wait until 2017 for the next book. Dear Veronica if you would like someone to read the book in advance please let me know! I’ll do it!!!

On a side note I hope Bas’s story is not the last story because I may have a tiny crush on him. He is adorably sweet. …he is the one guy you never have to doubt the whole way through the book.

I highly recommend this book. I am so happy I read it..
