I tried physically reading this and couldn't get into it. I borrowed the audiobook from my library and had a much better experience. I was nervous because the narrator is British and I tend to struggle to keep up when the narrator has an accent, but it wasn't a problem this time.

This felt so cozy and I didn't take the theme of following the right path too seriously and I was just along for the ride. This is a book that can be enjoyed whether you're looking for a solid theme or if you're just looking to get lost in a book for a while. I loved one of the twists and despite essentially the same thing happening over and over with respect to the husbands and the attic, the plot never felt redundant to me. The ending felt abrupt though and I was left with a "that's it?!" feeling. Otherwise, this was a strong debut and I recommend the audiobook. I can't wait to read more from Gramazio in the future!
