Jessica Grace Vargas has done an incredible job entwining sci-fi, romance, and mystery in her story telling led by our heroine; Kennedy Neff. We meet Kennedy in detention and instantly know she is anything but your typical 16 year old. While she lives a relatively normal life, she has some not so normal abilities that earn her a spot at a prestigious institute. As she navigates a new planet, new friendships, and a new love interest she’s desperate to solve a life long mystery: who or what is her father? With a looming intergalactic war, Kennedy uncovers many truths, some she’s looking for and others that find her.
