“Maybe if I could focus on the physical pain, it would eat up the emotional one.”

“A Crown of Tears and Treason,” by Vera Raye

Evie is at her arranged marriage wedding until Blood Brotherhood prince Zandyr party crashes to claim her for himself and kills her groom. She goes willingly so the people she loves will not be hurt. Her entire life she was taught to fear him because he is the most dangerous warrior. In her new life she struggles to figure out her next steps and learn the magic that was forbidden to her but not everything is at she thought. Zandyr might be the only person she can trust.

This was a good, arranged marriage/ enemies to lover’s book. There was a ton of action and a ton of tension between the main characters. I’m fully invested in the relationship, and it made it so I could not put the book down. I wish there was more growth and bonding with the support characters because they felt to me a little bit like they were just there and I didn’t get attached to any of them in this book, maybe in the next one I will. 4 out of 5 stars.
