The Ocean at the End of the Lane
by Neil Gaiman
I haven't read a lot of Gaiman's books but really enjoyed this. It's basically a ghost story, told from the perspective of a 7 year-old, which gives it a naivety and child-like view of his experience. The child's perspective makes it believable because what 7 year old doesn't at least kind-of believe in ghosts. I think it would make a great movie.
