This book is incredible, I can’t believe it’s a debut! I read it for the first time a few months ago and am currently doing a reread for the release and am just as awed by it the second time around.

The world building & magic systems are rad and described in a way that my carnival brain was able to latch on to without getting bored and distracted, which can be an issue for me in the fantasy genre. I was engrossed in the story from beginning to end and am counting down the minutes to book 2 already.

The characters were so fun to read & grow with. Talon is a forever favorite 🙌🏻. The banter between all of the characters was so dang entertaining & the love is top notch. The sass, spice & story were all very well balanced to keep information and tone without things being heavy on heavy too, which is generally another issue I have within this genre.

Top to bottom it’s an amazing read that I will recommend to everyone!
