The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter

4.0

i really enjoyed this book; it had a lot of fucked up parts, twists and turns that genuinely felt shocking and out of the blue, and the characters all felt like real people dealing with real trauma. definitely wasn't expecting such graphic depictions of rape and violence, which is why this isn't a five star review, but overall i don't feel like those scenes were used in a way that objectified the female characters in any way; they were relevant to the story and didn't feel exploitative, but that didn't make them any less triggering for me.

overall, i think this was a good read and i'm eager to read more by the author.
